Chinese silvergrass "Early Hybrids" - Miscanthus sinensis = Мiscanthus purpurascens Anderss.
Silvery, pink, reddish silky "plumes" of inflorescences decorate high (1.5-2.5 m) shoots. In autumn, the leaves turn purple.
Miscanthus overwinter well (Z4-9), although it is advisable to cover young specimens with spruce branches. They grow rather slowly, but adult plants look incredibly attractive.
Require a sunny place, fertile soil and regular watering. This hybrid series is represented by a variety of inflorescence colors and much earlier flowering.

Recommendations for sowing technique and care:
- in early spring, sow in seedling containers with loose, water- and air-permeable soil, preventing thickening;
- provide regular watering, loosening and shading from direct sunlight, if necessary, dive into more nutritious soil;
- plant grown seedlings in a permanent place in the evening or in cloudy weather, water well and mulch;
- cut old foliage to a height of 12 cm in spring, lightly hill up with well-rotted compost if necessary, apply complete mineral fertilizer with microelements once a season;
- practically not affected by pests and diseases.

* In nature, it is widespread in the Russian Far East up to the taiga zone, China, Korea and Japan. In cultivation since 1875.
Relative winter hardiness. Mulching and dry shelter for the winter are required.
Name: comes from the Greek words "mischos" - leg and "anthos" - flower, and is associated with the way the spikelets are attached.
Location: prefer dry and open places.
Soil: undemanding, but prefer fresh soil.
Care: cut in spring. Fertilize well. Remove shoots, as they are less attractive than the plant itself. Does not like transplants, growing in one place for many years.
Reproduction: by sowing seeds in the fall and careful division of the bush in the spring. When grown from seeds, it becomes decorative in the 3rd-4th year. Pre-sowing treatment is not required. Seeds are germinated in pots to avoid damaging the root system of plants.
Use: in single and group plantings, cutting for dry bouquets. An excellent plant for creating curtains.
